Our First Blog

Hello and welcome to the Primary 6's first blog.

It has been a very busy start to the year as we have been learning lots of new and exciting information.

Primary 6 have been extremely busy over the last few weeks preparing for our class assembly. We gathered lots of interesting facts about the Rainforest and used the story of the 'Great Kapok Tree' to highlight the impact of deforestation on the Amazon. We all worked very hard to learn our lines, research and prepare fact that could be included and design lots of colourful props to illustrate our story. If you managed to make it along we think that you will agree that all of our hard work and effort payed off.

Now that our assembly is finished we are looking forward to learning many more interesting facts about the wonders of the Rainforest in the remaining few weeks of this term.

It is not only our assembly that we have been working on, we have also started a new novel called 'Journey to the River Sea'. We have made predictions about the text and are excited to find out if we are correct.

In maths, we have been working with very large numbers, learning to read, write and round them. We have just started exploring 3D shapes and have really enjoyed creating some complicated nets.

As you can tell it has been an extremely busy start to the term already and we know that the hard work and fun will continue.

Keep checking for the next Primary 6 blog post!
