A massive Happy New Year from Primary 6/7.

It has been a very busy first week back in class. We kick started this term by learning all about the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Both primary 6 and Primary 7 will have the opportunity to take part in the poetry competition next week. Primary 6 are learning to recite- ' Up in the Mornin Early' and Primary 7 'Sweet Afton'. Both of these poems are very difficult and will require a lot of practice at home.
We have found out lots of interesting facts about Rabbie and we have created some beautiful artwork.

We have been very busy completing this terms cold piece of writing and we are hoping that we have included all of the skills that we have developed so far in P6/7.
We have also been thinking and writing some 'Rocking Resolutions' for 2019 and we hope that we will achieve what we have set out to do this year.

In maths this term we are going to be exploring shape and angles. We will be looking closely at 2D and 3D shapes, their names, properties and where in the real world we can find them. We will also be developing our knowledge of angles and how to draw and measure them. We will continue to work on our mental agility throughout the term.

Our PE days will remain the same this year which will be a Thursday and a Friday. Please make sure that you have appropriate kit for these days. This term in physical education, Miss Tulloch will be focusing on developing skills in gymnastics.

We are also hoping that our class will have the chance to start swimming lessons this term. We will keep you posted when we have any extra information on this.
